ACOUSTIC MEASUREMENTS

YFU is able to make several type of acoustical measurements with well developed instruments. As known, because of the naturally complex characteristics of sound, acoustical measurements are difficult and necessitate expensive instrumentation and a wide knowledge plus experience. YFU has made the necessary investment for such measurements for years ago, and developed experience and knowledge over many years carrying out lots of acoustical measurements. Below, these measurements, carried out according to international standards, are indicated shortly :

  • Noise Level Measurements. Below listed measurements can be done in wide band (16 - 20.000 Hz.) or in any frequency band required. Frequency bands can be selected to be 1/1 octave or 1/3 octave..
  • Instantaneous noise level (SPL)
  • Average noise level in a certain period (Leq)
  • Maximum noise level in a certain period (Lmax)
  • Minimum noise level in a certain period (Lmin)
  • Highest peak value in a certain period (Lpeak)
  • Equivalent average noise level reduced to one second and having the same energy as a time-limited noise (SEL)
  • Statistical measurements giving intervals of noise levels with related percentage of time
  • Statistical measurements giving the parameters (L01, L10, L50, L90, L99 or any set of five self determined L##)
  • Production of  pink noise and standard noises Spectrum I and Spectrum II (used in noise transmission loss measurements) up to a level of 118 dB for making measurements
  • Frequency analysis
    • Frequency analysis possibility in 1/1, 1/3, 1/12, and 1/24 octave bands
    • Dual channel measurement possibility
    • Intensity probe measurements
    • Measurement of frequency response (and resonance frequencies) of a room
    • If necessary and sufficient conditions are provided, measurement of noise transmission loss between to rooms
    • If necessary and sufficient conditions cannot be obtained, indirect measurement of noise transmission loss between to rooms (using Spectrum I and Spectrum II standard noises)

  • Reverberation time measurements
    • Reverberation time measurements in frequency bands (1/1 or 1/3). Results are given as T60   using three different calculation methods (EDT, T20 and T30)
    • Possibility to obtain a graphical output for the change of sound level during reverberation time
